Herero riflemen occupy the formidable natural fortress of Otjihinamaparero, with its high rock walls. Schutztruppen and Marines launch a flank assault, but the Hereros hold their ground and shower the attackers with lead. It’s a reconnaissance mission, but the Schutztruppen, machine gunners and Marines of the Recon Detachment are looking for a fight. So are Herero riflemen, expertly concealed in the bush.
